So, what is this Bash Socials exactly?Bash Socials is a marriage of my experience, my passion, and my desire to provide a singular point of contact for small parties. I successfully ran my first business for almost a decade serving clients onsite both big and small. Bash Socials is also a professional personal chef service that specializes in in-home weekly meal planning and in-home catering. We come to your home and provide restaurant quality service and cuisine straight from your kitchen chosen from our seasonal menus. The idea behind us is two-fold: 1) alleviate the time and pressure of cooking and 2) give the opportunity to re-establish family table time. We want to help make the family table a place of love, familiarity, memories, and nostalgia. Bonus: you'll find you have more time for yourself!

What does the Professional Service Fee include?Beginning to end cookery: kitchen inventory, menu planning, production planning, shopping, in-home prep, in-home cooking, storage, labeling, and cleanup. It also includes all administrative and business fees. Additionally, you are getting our many years of education, experience, and trial and error that has refined our technique and family recipes. The fee does not include groceries. Off-site cooking is available at an added fee.
-
Why are my groceries separate?Transparency and accountability. All great relationships are built on communication and openness. Bash is not interested in marking up products, pretending to use certain purveryors, or vaguely charging you for items. We are also not interested in sharing products between clients. What is purchased for you is used only for you. It's important to us that you know and see what you are getting. Copies of all originial receipts are provided weekly. Side note: If you would like to menu share with another family and split the cost, that's available.
-
What can I expect for grocery costs? The answer is that it depends on several ingredients: menu size, portion quantity, menu type, and quality of ingredients. However, you can anticipate your grocery bill to be around what it is now, sometimes less. sometimes more. In order to save money and not double purchase, we will inventory your current kitchen pantry.
-
Which leads to...can I do my own shopping?Complete transparency...chefs are somewhat control freaks of their environment. What we produce is tied to our name and our talent. We would prefer to shop for you, but you may shop for yourself. The caveat is to ensure that you get all of the specifed items so that the menu can be executed timely. However, if you would prefer to shop for yourself, we will put together a shopping list for you as we would for ourselves with recommendations.
-
Can I be involved in the menu development process? We encourage you to be as involved as you would like. If you want to suggest a menu or if you just really want a specific something, let us know. If you want us to solely create a menu for you, that's fine also. Or if you have a favorite recipe you want us to make, send it our way. Once a weekly menu is created, Peckish will forward it to you for final approval. Also, you are not locked into a contract. This is a convenience service not a do or die. If you simply don't need the service for a week or are out of town, just let us know 72 hours in advance.
-
How are my meals packaged? Our food is packaged and labeled each week via family style where each main and all sides are in individual clear glass containers. If you wish, we can portion out an entire meal for you into smaller, individual containers for per person meal prep. Work lunches are typically packaged in reusable or disposable meal prep containers and bowls. For the containers, we prefer to use specific glass containers and removable paper labels. It allows you see inside the container and keep your fridge neat and tidy. We are also happy to use your personal containers. An option does exist of using semi-disposbale containers that are replenished as necessary.
-
Do I need to be home? That is completely up to you. Whether you are home or not will not affect the service we offer to you. The only requirement is umimpeded access to a clean kitchen.
-
What payment options do Bash accept?A credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, & AmEx) is required for all services and is billed each week. A receipt will be issued each week.
-
Am I locked into a contract? How do I cancel service? For professional personal chef services, never. We do have a Service Agreement to be signed, but that's just to have a full understanding of what the service is all about and our partnership. You are not obligated to continue service and may choose to not continue service at any time. Should you need to cancel services, please refer to the cancellation policy. For all other services, a contract is required to ensure details are accurate and both parties have the same understanding.
-
Oops, I forgot that I have family coming to town. What can I do?"Just let us know. We can easily add your guests to the service for the length of their stay. Another option is take advantage of our In-home Catering services for Bash to make dinner on the spot for your family while in town.
-
Can I purchase multiple weeks at a time and is there a price break?Absolutely! We encourage predictability. We offer the following: 1) 1 month of service for a 7% discount (note: some months have 5 weeks.) 2) 12 weeks of service for a 10% discount 3) 6 months of service for a 12.5% discount Note: Packages do not have to be used for consecutive weeks and may be gifted to someone else. Groceries are invoiced for reimburement when aquired for service.
-
I saw somewhere about using the Bash pantry. What's that about?Bash holds an extensive pantry of salts, peppers, spices, dried herbs, oils, vinegars, powedered items, whole spices, and a myriad of other things that sometimes only takes a minimal amount each week for a menu. All of those things can cost a pretty penny if purchased weekly. For a small fee, we allow access to the use of our pantry items and will bring them with us to accommodate your menu weekly. If, however, you would like to have all of the pantry items in your kitchen, we will purchase and leave them in your pantry.
-
Are Gift Certificates available?100% yes! There's nothing more valuable than giving the gift of time. Gift Certificates are a great way to say "Congratulations," "Take the week off," "I love you," "I'm thinking about you," "My condolences." We would love to send a special surprise to a favorite person.
-
What is Bash's food style?Great question. While we can do almost anything and get crazy, our passion lies in simple with soul. We love taking old recipes and updating them. Great, familiar flavors executed well. Our favorites are Diner style, Farm-style Rustic, Southern, Southwestern, Brasilian, Mexican (street style), Italian, Greek, Mediterranean, Persian, Korean, and a little French. I mean, ok, that's a lot of options, but it's more about the history and peasantry of food for us and how they tell a story.
-
Where does Bash shop for food ingredients? We start with local purveyors - farmers markets, local farms, and local butchers. If items are not available, we use Whole Foods, Fresh Market, or Publix. Specific cultural ingredients are sourced from local Asian, African, Middle Eastern, and Mexican markets. If you would like us to only procure items through a certain source or grocer, we will be glad to talk about it. (Please note that some menu items may only be available at certain grocers.) Something that's important to us is sustainability and supporting local farmers. By purchasing through local farmers, it invigorates the local economy and also ensures that we continue to support small businesses.
-
So, organic or not organic, source or large grocery? Does it REALLY matter?"That's always a topic of debate, right? For Bash, we believe in the idea of knowing where our foods are grown and raised, albeit animal, plant, honey, etc. In reality, we even strive to to know where and how our pantry items are grown and processed. We believe our bodies are only as healthy as the things we put into it. Growing up with my family as farmers, I was able to see first hand the direct connection of healthy and fresh, farmed food. As a family, when possible, we grow our own veg and herbs, grind our own spices, make our own lunchmeat, all sorts of fun stuff. But there are times when convenience outweighs time. So, we completely understand the topic of source versus grocery. At the end of the day, we would say to do what fits your family. If you are hardcore local sourcing and organic, do it passionately. If you are fast and furious from a chain grocer, do it guiltlessly. Everyone has their own needs that fit into their own family.
-
How does Bash address dietary restrictions/needs?Every person and family is different. We'll work with whatever needs and desires you or your family may have. Whether you are just trying to cut back or cut out or have a medically mandated diet or a philosophical conviction, just let us know. Our philosophy on substitutions. We always try to use natural substitutes versus chemically-derived substitutes. For instance, coconut sugar is a fantastic substitute for a sweetener and offers a low glycemic index for diabetics or others looking to lower their sugar intake without sacrificing flavor.
-

Do you offer traveling chef services?Absolutely! Some families love to have reliable, delicious service whether home or not. Let's talk about how that would look for your family.
-
Does Bash offer catering?Yes, but not in the traditional sit down plated dinner sense. We enjoy doing In-home Catering that is more tasting tables, family style, stations, or cocktail style. Bash cooks onsite so that your guests get to enjoy your party food at its most fresh. We act as the private chef for your small party. We also offer assistance to you in the kitchen for your party. Basically, we become your extra pair of hands that you always need at the party. Then, at crunch time, we take over so that everything is executed timely and YOU get to enjoy your guests and the service. Lastly, we offer Drop-off Catering. Here's our current menu!
